"FROZEN" LATE NIGHT PARTY AT THE KIMS!

So, before Spring Break started I gave the girls a budget and they made a plan of everything they wanted to do during Spring Break. Number 1 on the list and Number 1 expense? A LATE NIGHT FROZEN PARTY. It was more work than I personally wanted...however, I am so happy about it. We ended up having 13 kids and a few moms (Carolyn and Angela each got to invite a few friends)...it was  fun preparing for it with the girls and the party itself was fun, too.

This month's Visiting Teaching message really inspired us. It talked of a woman who had pictures from the Ensign of temples and Jesus that covered her home. Not expensive/fancy pictures...just ones cut out from a magazine. The girls and I decided that we wanted more pictures of the temple and the Savior in our home. We had some but wanted to be more like the lady and have it fill the home. Our home definitely isn't full yet...but we are a step closer. We pulled out Ensigns and the girls picked out pictures. Carolyn happened to do an FHE lesson this past week where everyone brought their favorite picture of the Savior and talked about it. We made sure to find their favorite pictures and put them up on the walls, too. Anyways, the two pictures Angela added to our home before the party was the picture of Him praying and the picture of the SLC Temple below...

 Carolyn added these. And she spent a lot of time finding her perfect spot in the room for them. The one by the TV is of the SLC Temple. And the one below is Carolyn's most favorite picture of the Savior. It is of Him being baptized.

It was neat because one of Angela's friends came over to our home for the first time for the party. After she circled our Family Room and Kitchen and looked at pictures and after we had talked for a few moments, she said, "Are you a Mormon?" It was really neat how Carolyn and Angela's pictures helped show who we are. We are Mormons and love it!

The Food was a lot of fun! Carolyn, Angela and I had fun thinking and finding Frozen-themed food. Here are "Elsa's Fruit Wands":

I made some spicy Salsa and asked Carolyn to think of something creative...loe what she came up with "Beware! Elsa can't spice it down. It's so spicy!" 

 You can't see it too well...but the girls even decorated all the cups...Olaf style!

 Snowflakes the girls decorated with....toothpicks glued together with glitter. We used a lot of glitter for the party.

 The first game we played was "Pass the Snowball"...glittery balloons filled with a paper in each balloon. We turned on the music...it the music stopped and you were holding the balloon, you had to do what the balloon said inside. Kaycee (Carolyn's best friend) had come over the day before and her and Carolyn thought of silly things to put inside the ballon (ie "sing 'Let it Go' Olaff style).

 Next, we played "Build a snowman"...with TP :) Mari (Carolyn's friend) was a pro at it :)

 We then played "Pin the Nose on Olaf"...there was a lot of cheating going on, but it was fun :)

Then, the girls made Olaf cupcakes...cupcakes with marshmellows, etc.
