Go Cougs!

We are glad that we can make it to a couple of BYU football games the cougs play in Colorado. Today we went to a game with cousins. Here is Carolyn cheering them on. Angela slept through some of the madness...don't ask me how.
Anna and Carolyn - look at Anna's cute arm around her cousin.
For part of the game, Carolyn just snuggled with her daddy.
Towards the end of the game, Carolyn started rubbing her hands together - oh boy :)

This was Troy and Angela's first football game!!!!

#1 Dad!

What is one thing Carolyn and Angela have in common? They have the best daddy ever! He is working so hard right now with his new job and taking his CPA exams (he only has one left!) to support us girls and he still leaves time to be the best daddy (and husband!) I thought I would share just a few things he does:
  • Monthly Dates! Every month Carolyn so looks forward to her date with daddy! She talks about them all of the time. Their last date was getting some chocolate icecream and then they played at the park.
  • Every night Andrew tells Carolyn stories and sings her songs before bedtime. Carolyn just loves this special time with daddy. I think the last story I overheard Andrew telling her was about a pink hippo and a purple monkey that helped their mommy pick things up in the jungle... I am not really sure what stories are being told...but Carolyn LOVES them!
  • Carolyn so looks forward to the time Daddy comes home from work. He often brings her home a little treat and then they play together while I finish making dinner.

Basically, the list could go on forever...but we girls feel so blessed to have him! We love you, Andrew!

Just about every other night Andrew and Carolyn take the trash out together. Carolyn loves helping daddy with this...here are pictures right before their big adventures to the dump...oh, the little things in life :)

Another Day at the Zoo

Thanks to my friend, Lisa, we got into the zoo today for free! It was so much fun!
Carolyn and Kaylyn walked together holding hands for a lot of the time - two cute little princesses! Kaylyn is the only other girl in her nursery class so we are so happy that she is such a good friend to Carolyn! And - look at Carolyn's cute ponytail; her hair is getting so long! Carolyn's favorite animal today was the lion! The lion would get close to the glass and look at Carolyn - she would scream and run away and then go back to the glass and wait for him to come again. It was a lot of fun!
Our easy-going little Angela was so good for the zoo adventures. Most of the time, she just sat back in her stroller and enjoyed the ride!

Monday Nights

Every monday night when lesson time comes around at FHE, Carolyn does a really good and adorable job at teaching Daddy, Mommy, and Angela. This week we all gathered around Carolyn as she posted pictures that we had drawn together earlier in the day and explained that Heavenly Father and Jesus made our bodies and we need to take care of them and keep the word of wisdom. I love FHE and the lessons Carolyn gives - it brings so much joy to watch my little two-year-old teach us about the gospel! What a cutie!

Science Museum!

Today was a free admissions day at the Denver Museum of Science and Nature! We had a fun time there with some of our friends from church. We are liking Denver a lot so far!

Angela had a fun time watching all the people there - it was VERY crowded! :)

"A Few of My Favorite Things..."

Carolyn, Angela, and I have a lot of favorite things we fill our days with; here are just a few:

Walks! It was been SO nice outside and we have just been loving extending our outside walking adventures this season! Our walks could last for hours - it is hard to get Carolyn home!Crafts, crafts, crafts! Carolyn just LOVES crafts - drawing, painting, playing with stickers, making puppets, coloring, playing with play-dough, gluing things together, etc! Our fridge is filled with Carolyn's beautiful artwork :) (Carolyn is excited for Halloween, to say the least. Can you guess what she's going to be? Thanks, Nana and Ponka!) Carolyn loves playing and taking care of her dollies and stuffed animals!

Many times when I go to put Angela down in her crib, bouncer, or swing - I find a doll or stuffed animal sitting there! It always makes me laugh!
We do a lot of puzzles everyday! This is Carolyn showing off her favorite puzzle to do with me right now.

Say, "Cheese!"
In our apartment we have a little deck outside. We use it for activities such as drawing with chalk!

Carolyn loves drawing and writing with shaving cream! Please excuse the lack of pants :) It gets a little messy...

...And, of course, we love reading.
Carolyn is getting better at reading...eventhough she has the words in this book memorized, it's really fun watching her sound out words. (And, again, excuse the diaper! My excuse THIS time is that it was right after she woke up; we hadn't gotten ready for the day yet :)

...And What's New with Angela?

She is getting so good at sitting now!

Isn't Life Wonderful?

Here are some of the many cute faces my girls are making everyday...

ABCs

Eventhough Carolyn didn't get through the whole alphabet because she was distracted by the camera (it's hard to record her doing her cute stuff because she loves holding the camera when she sees it), she looks cute singing the first few letters :)

My Five-Month Baby is growing up!

A couple of weeks ago Angela started eating solids...and she loves it! With a little work, Carolyn has become a very good little helper when it comes to feeding Angela! Bundled up for a walk!

A Baby's Laugh

It's so easy getting Angela to laugh; she makes life so fun. You may question my sense of style when viewing this video :) Carolyn loves picking out Angela's clothes...

Enchanted Morning Calls

One of Carolyn's favorite things to do is dance. She loves dancing to the songs in the movie "Enchanted." Drizelle often sings in the movie to call her animal friends. Well, EVERY morning Carolyn calls to me in the same way Drizelle calls to her animal friends to tell me she is awake and wants me to come into her room. It really is quite adorable!

You may notice that Carolyn is sleeping on the floor. She actually hasn't wanted to sleep on her bed in months! I guess it's an Ashton thing....

Canning

Thanks to my amazing sister-in-law, Janeil, who has amazing homemaking skills, I learned how to can fruit this season! It was actually fun and we are loving eating the finished products! A couple of my sisters wanted me to post pictures of some of my canned peaches/pears...so here I am...showing them off...
