Henderson...Here we come!!!

Tonight was good. Very good.

At the beginning of this month we found out that we could no longer attend to the school we are all so inlove with- Turnberry. The news broke our hearts, to say the least. Especially for sweet Carolyn. She has cried on many occasions. Two days ago Carolyn just told me that we needed to stop talking about it.

Tonight was good. We met with the Principal today. Carolyn asked him lots of questions - he was so amazing and everyone thought Carolyn was a cutie with great questions.

During the meeting I felt good. I feel at peace with Henderson and feel it's where the Lord wants us. When we got into the car to leave I expressed to the girls how I felt at peace. Carolyn said she did too - she was going to miss her friends but she was excited about Henderson. What a tender mercy from the Lord. To give us an exciting feeling...a peaceful feeling.

Henderson...here we come! Onto new adventures for the Kims Girls.

More details...

It was cute because there were about 15 families there. Mostly adults...we made quite a scene. The adults were asking questions and every so often Carolyn's hand would go up and she'd ask a question. "Can we walk through Henderson?"...."Does Henderson have movie nights?" The Principal was really cute with Carolyn and I think everyone thought she was adorable with her sweet little questions.

She was excited when we got into the car about going to Henderson.

When we got home, Carolyn got busy writing the new Principal a letter. Mostly filled with more questions such as, "Do you have hot lunch?"

Ha!

Learning Time

I love my mornings with Angela and Emily. Love them. Usually we get to have Learning Time together. I love it. This morning we read a talk/lesson in the Friend Magazine about "making a difference in the world." Then Angela thought about how she could make a difference. She got up during the reading and went and brought me an orange :) Then she wrote and drew about how she would tell her best friend, Aleigha, that she goes to church and ask her if she goes to church. Angela came up with that on her own. She is such an amazing example to me.

"I will tell Aleigha about church!" It was funny because when she was writing I reminded her of how a period comes at the end of a sentence...to which she replied, "An exclamation mark because I am excited!"

Heavenly Father has a Plan for His Children

Carolyn was asked to give the talk in Primary this upcoming Sunday. I offered her help but she kindly refused. She had it covered. She just had a few requests for pictures but had it covered. She has a beautiful talk prepared for this upcoming Sunday. I love her testimony that Heavenly Father has a plan for His children. In her talk she talks about how Heavenly Father and Jesus created this world for us. That we have the opportunity to choose the right or not choose the right. She brings up that at school a lot of kids say bad words but she chooses not to say bad words. I love how much I learn from my sweet Carolyn.

Kim's Family Missionary Journal

Today Andrew gave an amazing lesson to the family. Andrew had the girls act out and narrate the Introduction to the Book of Mormon where Joseph Smith gives an account. It was awesome and personally strengthened my testimony of Joseph Smith and the amazing gift the Book of Mormon is to me.

After acting it out, our family set a 2014 Family Missionary Plan. SOOO excited - thank you, Andrew, for getting us going on this! I am excited.

One of Andrew's brilliant ideas is to have a Family Journal - where we can record missionary experiences that we have! So we started a blog:

www.kimsmissionaryjournal.blogspot.com

Carolyn put an amazing story in there today of an experience she had where she was a missionary - she stood up for what was right today :)

Just call me Ms. Fix-It

Our bathrooms have been horribly clogged. For a long time. Like a year. Drain-O just wasn't cutting it. Sooo, I googled it today and figured out how to take apart and unclog sinks. Let's just say two things:

1. I will never buy drain-o again. What a waste of money. Taking the pipes apart is simple and better and cheaper.
2. Words can't describe the disgustingness. The smell was horrible. The black and white globs were so revolting. It was gross to say the very least. Never again, Jannie, let the sinks build up like that.

Sisters

Right now, Emily and Angela's favorite thing to do together is play "baby." The game? Basically, Emily puts a binky in her mouth and fakes cries in our Baby Bouncer while Angela consuls her and nurtures her as her mother.  There's also a lot of hugging and holding and kissing and crawling that goes on.

Emily's Prayer of Faith

Emily woke up this morning with a hurt foot. Poor girl. While we were first examining her hurt foot, Emily said, "I want to say a prayer for my foot." Loved her example of knowing that when we are in pain or need help, we can turn to our Heavenly Father.

Cleaning PART-AY!

Can I just say that I am inlove with Saturday Cleaning with my girls. I love cleaning. It's true. And to have my girls do it with me. Along with music and talking and dancing. Seriously? Life is so good.

Carolyn doing the favorite job around the house: Cleaning the toilet. Seriously, no joke...favorite job the girls. We have to make sure we take turns doing it so everyone stays happy.

Angela's Spiritual Gift...

Angela has many amazing spiritual gifts that Heavenly Father has blessed her with. One of them that is so evident is her love for others and caring and nurturing others. She just loves taking care of people and showing love for them and serving them.

Today I dropped the girls off at a friend's house while Andrew and I went to the temple. After saying goodbye to them, Angela put her arms around Emily and said, "Emily, I will take care of you." Emily said, "Okay." And the two of them walked away with Angela's arms wrapped around Emily.

Jewel up the Nose

Today we had a wonderful experience of Heavenly Father's answering our prayers....

During dinner, Angela took a little jewel that you can use to make a bracelet and put it up her nose. Her nose started bleeding, and yes - that jewel was stuck up that nose. Poor Angela was freaking out to have something stuck up there...and she was in pain. She was pretty distraught and Andrew and I were trying to get the jewel out and calm Angela down for about 10 minutes. After about 10 minutes, we knelt in prayer as a family and asked Heavenly Father to help us get that jewel out. After we ended the prayer, the jewel almost instantly came out of Angela's nose. It was an amazing experience. It had been stuck up there for about 10 minutes and almost immediately after praying and asking for help, the jewel came out. Heavenly Father is so aware of us and answers our prayers.

Angela's Time-Out Example

Today Angela was such an example to me. She was sent to the Laundry Room to pull it together when she was having a hard time not screaming and crying. I was so touched by Angela's example. She went to the Laundry Room and after being in there for a short moment, she began to sing to herself Primary Songs. It cheered her up and allowed herself to pull it together and made the biggest smile on my face. How amazing that she knows a good way to cheer herself up when feeling down. I love her and her example.

Snowball Fight = ER Room

Tonight we had Kaycee Peirson (Carolyn's best friend) over to play. While they were being picked up Sister Pierson and I were talking and the girls ran outside to play in the snow. Kaycee accidently hit Carolyn in the eye with a hard snowball...which landed us in the ER. Luckily, no too big of damage was done.

Bringing in 2014!

The past 9 days have been so fun and busy and amazing! Chantal and Dave and their adorable kids came over to stay with us...it was so much fun! The girls were absolutely obsessed with Brianna and loved playing with cute Ryan. Us, big kids, stayed up way too late playing games and watching sports. During the day, our favorite game to play with "Apples to Apples"...Carolyn begged to play it all of the time - it's her favorite.

Ponka, Nana, and Great Grandma Della Hansen came for a while as well. Anna Kim was baptized and they came to party in the new year and see Anna get baptized.

What fun! :)
