100 Day Party

On Friday, we celebrated the 100 day countdown to Christmas!! YAY! We ate Christmasy food, listened to a lot of Christmas music, and had some fun Christmas activities.

Here Andrew and Carolyn are with our traditional 100 chain countdown to Christmas...we make this every year :) (thanks to Andrew - he's the best) Taking down the first loop of the year...

Dance Class!!

Today Carolyn started dance class! She did awesome and she just loves it! When I was first telling her about dance class a few weeks ago, she got so excited but then announced, "But I already know how to dance!"

I really had butterflies driving Carolyn to dance lessons today - I'm so excited for her! Look at that big smile in the previous picture - I love it!

What a beautiful ballerina! I loved watching her dance around...and she loved it, too!
As for now, Carolyn says her favorite is tap dancing. Those shoes are just too fun...
I wanted to take some pictures of my dancing Carolyn in her outfit, but she just wanted to be silly.

What a great day! We can't wait for lessons next week :)

BYU Football Game

We love it when the cougars come close so we can go to their games. Although it was a very sad game to watch, it was still fun to be able to go...we hope that they keep coming close to us now that they are independent.

Carolyn's picture she took of the field...we had great seats!!

Andrew's parents drove up here for the game - it was so fun to see them even though it was very brief! I am sad I didn't get any picture of them. But they were here and it was sooo wonderful to see them!!! Andrew carrying the girls to the stadium...where's his wife to lend a hand?
Throughout the game, Angela would put her baby on her head so that she could be sure that her baby could see all the action :) What a good mommy (I wish I looked cute with a dirty face).
It was fun...hopefully the cougars pull it together this season!
And, don't forget that today is the 100 day count down to Christmas!!! YAY!!!! We are having our Christmas party tomorrow! It will be so fun :) Christmas music, food, and games (like pin the hat on Santa - it will be fun!) Here are Carolyn's invitations to the party (the picture is a Christmas tree)...

Two Babies

Angela could spend hours coloring and drawing every day. Here’s a little drawing she did yesterday that illustrates her favorite things to draw…I was pretty proud of her drawing!

So, if you know Angela, you could guess that she drew two babies. Little face, eyes, mouth, and the little scribbles above the head are bows :) What a little artist!

And, speaking of Angela and babies, every day I have new stories and example of Angela being our little mommy over here. One of my favorite stories is the other day Carolyn, Angela, and I were playing at the park. I was pushing Carolyn and Angela on the swings when Angela indicated that she wanted to get off the swing and for me to sit on a swing next to Carolyn. Then Angela proceeded to push Carolyn and me on the swings! It was sooo cute- she wanted to be the little mommy pushing people on the swing - not the one having fun on the swing. We love our little mommy over here.

PS- I am finally back to updating my preschool blog!

My Cuties

Our Preschool Classroom!

A few weeks ago, I turned part of our basement into a preschool classroom for the girlies. Obviously, it’s nothing fancy, but we have just been loving it... A closer look at it...(this first picture you'll have to tilt your head to see - I'm too lazy to go back and fix it)....

I haven’t posted on my preschool blog in months, but I thought I’d just share 3 things I’ve been loving lately for preschool.

1 – My friend, Lisa, sent me a simplified list of the Colorado preschool and kindergarten guidelines – Thanks, Lisa! I plan on focusing my activities around those guidelines this year.

2- I love the activity mom! Just about all of her ideas are so great and simple! I use a ton of her ideas!!!

3- Over the summer, I didn't do much planning and such, but I did make a lot of phase books for the girls. For Carolyn, I used pictures to make books. She loves them - she loves looking at pictures of herself and whoever else the book is about! They've been a huge hit with her and she wants them to keep coming so those are the books I'll probably mainly be making this year for her. Here are a few of the books I've made....
Examples from in the book...as you can see, I do nothing fancy....just black and white photos. I'm all about simplifying :)
For Angela (and Carolyn), I made chunk word books (a book about "__at" - you can see the example of the hat page in the picture) and other concepts she is learning.

Anyways, I like to document stuff I do for preschool sometimes so I can remember it for future kids (I'll get my preschool blog going in a few weeks so I can do that better...maybe :)
