Uncle Al

Andrew's brother, Alex, returned from serving a mission last week!! Andrew's parents went and picked him up. Lucky for us, they had a layover at our airport so we got to see him for a few minutes there!

Welcome home, Alex!

Hair 'N Things

I love finding ways to get the girls' hair our of their faces on hot summer days.

And a few random pictures...

I'll often find my camera with random pictures on it (good thing it's a cheap camera or else I'd find better hiding places for it). Anyways, sometimes I smile big at the pictures I find the girls took on my camera. This one is my favorite one I found this week....
We made a reading corner in our playroom that the girls love.
I was looking through my files on my computer today and found that I never posted pictures from Carolyn's swimming lessons (from like 4 months ago)....
She loved swimming and did such an amazing job.
...And I got to hang out with this cutie while watching Carolyn swim....

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

Our great friends, Luke and Kara, were SOOO kind to us and invited Andrew and me to a Rockies game - they had FANTASTIC seats!! 10 rows up from the Rockies dug out - right by home plate. It was so amazing! Here is a picture Kara took from our seats - she did not use the zoom on her camera - this is just how great the seats were: It was so fun! We love the Deckers so it was so fun to be with them and it was a great game! The Rockies were playing a number one team (Padres) and it was a close game! Towards the end, the Rockies hit a grand slam to win the game! It was such a great experience! If you know Andrew, you can imagine how great of a night it was for him! He loved that he could notice things up close that you can't see on TV or sitting far away from the game. It was awesome.

Andrew and Luke cheering the Rockies on after their first 5 runs in one inning. It really couldn't have been a better game.
Thank you SOOO much Kara and Luke!!!!!!

4th of July Weekend

Our 4th of July Weekend was a blast! Andrew had 4 days off of work - we didn't do anything too fancy - it was just fun to have so much time together. We played a lot of games (every year that Andrew and I have been married, we have kept a running record of Monopoly wins each year. Last year, we tied - but besides that I haven't been able to be the year's winner since our first year of being married. Anyways, I'm coming back! Over the weekend, I made the grand total so I am 3 games ahead of him - seeing that our anniversary is next month, there's just no way he's going to dominate this year :) Go me. Okay, I know we're dorks), played outside a lot, went to fireworks 3 nights in a row, took naps, went on some fun outings, etc., etc. One of the days, Andrew took Carolyn on a date to a Rockies Game. From how the two of them talk, they had a blast. Carolyn learned all the cheers and was a great cheerleader and sat for the entire game (I don't even know if I could do that - just kidding :)

The next day, Andrew took Angela out on a date. It was so fun because it was the first date that Angela has been on where I think she has fully understood what a date is. She was SOOO excited to say good-bye to Carolyn and me and go off with Andrew. She was just so thrilled!!! The next two days after the date, she just couldn't stop talking about the date. They went and looked at baby dolls at a store (what's better than that for Angela?) and then got a shake. She still is always talking about the juice she got with dad (because anything besides milk or wa-wa, she calls "juice").

The night before the fourth, we went to a friends' house for a fun barbecue and then sat outside the Rockies Stadium and watched their fireworks (it was one of the best fireworks shows I've seen).

On the fourth of July, it was really rainy and stormy - but that didn't stop up from venturing out...we just dressed up warm and Angela, Carolyn, and me (yeah for short legs) all got in our little trunk of the car and watched fireworks while Andrew stood and entertained us.
You can see in the pictures that Carolyn had a swollen eye...we have no idea what it was. It really did not seem to be pink eye and it didn't seem to be a bug bite or anything...anyways, it still is a mystery to us.

Our city's fireworks ended out being canceled, but we still had a fun time watching fireworks that were a distance away and had fun snuggling in the car. The following day, Monday, the city rescheduled their fireworks so we went with Chantal and Dave. The girls loved sitting in the trunk so much that we had to do that again (Carolyn is still a little unsure of fireworks so she felt safer in the car with me).

After fireworks, we went home and had a fun celebration together with Chantal and Dave. It was a great forth of July to remember how blessed we are to live in a great country.

Ang-Ba-Nang

Quick Update on a few things Angela has been up to:

-Since her birthday, two things have just exploded for Angela - her love of reading and her talking. She loves reading books all of the time (by herself, with Carolyn and her babies, or with me). Her favorite books are about babies, Cinderella, and hippos.

-It's also been fun that she's been able to communicate better and talk to us so much!! It's very rare that she will utter a word to someone outside of her immediate family, but we love hearing her talk and talk. - Angela loves being silly. She loves making us laugh with silly faces and just being her silly self. On the fourth of July when we were all sitting there waiting for the fireworks to begin, Angela took it upon herself to entertain us all. She kept walking silly past us and making silly faces. She cracks us up.

- Last week, Angela went to a big girl bed and has done AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! I was fully planning on the transition to be a complete nightmare, but she hardly blinked with the change. She just loves her "new bed" and loves laying in it and saying "My"...she loves that she finally has her very own big girl bed. Angela has always been a great sleeper. Even in her new bed, she sleeps soooo well at night and still takes a 3-4 hour nap most days.

- Along with a new big girl bed, Carolyn and Angela started sharing a room together about a month ago and it's been going wonderfully! We've tried putting them together a few times in the past and it's never really worked out great, but this time around both girls have been amazing being roomies.
-Angela loves to sing! Her favorite songs are If your Happy, Give Said the Little Stream, ABCs (and can sing it really well!), Popcorn Popping, Head Shoulders Knees and Toes, etc.
Angela continues to love to take care of her babies and the family all day long. She loves setting out a pillow and a blanket for us (Andrew and me) and then telling us to lay down and go night-night. She does that all of the time. She also loves putting her babies night-night all day long and is so great at singing to them and giving them loves before going to bed.

Carolyn Barolyn

A quick little update on a few things our Carolyn-Barolyn has been up to lately...

- Even though I have been a horrible blogger and have neglected my preschool blog, we've never been so good at having preschool. Carolyn never likes to miss a day of preschool in the mornings (even Saturday and Sundays she is asking for it first thing in the morning). I love her love of learning. Her favorite books to get at the library are still anything princess, pony, Carebear (or anything girly), but lately she has also added children's' encyclopedias/dictionaries/world books/etc. to her pile of books. It always makes me laugh.
- She is also quite thrilled about the fact that she has graduated from taking baths and has entered the world of taking showers (and wants to take one just about everyday).

- She also loves charts. I make her charts for her reading and other goals we set, but she loves making charts and keeping track of things herself. The other day, she made a chart with 12 circles and said every time she does something nice she gets a mark and when she gets 12 marks, she gets a cookie. I love seeing the charts she comes up with.
- Carolyn also loves playing baseball. Of course we are bias, but Andrew and I are very, very impressed with her hitting abilities. She's good! Playing baseball is easier with dad, she'll tell you, because he can throw better. Andrew tells me that if he ever throws a bad throw, she'll laugh and say, "That was a mommy throw, dad!!" Haha, at least Carolyn still loves playing baseball with me even though I throw like a mom. She can't wait until she's 5 and can be on a baseball team.
Carolyn also loves to put on performances where she dances and sings for everyone. Here she is with an invitation she made for Andrew to attend one of her performances. It reads: Come watch me sing and dance 8:00 Carolyn Kim

Of course, Angela is always a star in the performances as well....
