Easter of 2009

We had such a wonderful Easter! We woke up Easter morning and the Easter Bunny had come! Both Angela and Carolyn had a fun time looking for their baskets and eggs. We will, however, have to tell the Easter bunny to only bring toys and such next year for Carolyn. She tried some of the candy she got from him and announced that it was "yucky" (even chocolate; she usually atleast likes that!) We love our little healthy eater. Here are some pictures of my sweet family right before going to church.

Giving Daddy kisses....

We were lucky enough to have Chris and Janeil's family come over for dinner and fun after church! Here are the older girls in the traditional Hardy "Funny Bunny" hats! Yes, we are keeping the "Funny Bunny" song and hats alive!
The Famous and Traditional Egg Roll!!!
Three years ago Andrew made an egg called the "Jannie Killer" that won the whole egg roll competition at his parents' house so now, of course, he has to make it every year. Basically, it's an egg he tries to make as ugly as possible (he was mad that this year's "Jannie Killer" turned out looking quite nice) and writes "Jannie Killer" on it. I have never been able to defeat the egg in the past...but, not this year! My "WINner" egg rocked!
Even Angela joined in for the fun! (Notice her cute little shoes...I love them!)

And - who won the Egg Roll?! Drum roll please.....CAROLYN!! She beat everyone with her Lion egg!! Here she is on the last roll...tongue out and full concentration on winning :)
Way to go, Carolyn!
EASTER EVE!!! The day before Easter, we dyed eggs!

One hour after the girls were finished dying their eggs....
Okay, so maybe it wasn't an hour....but, Daddy did spend a lot of time making all of his easter eggs perfect. I love my husband...he's one of a kind :)
The day before Easter we also went to the Rec Center close by for an Easter Egg Hunt. It was pretty crazy (small area and lots of kids).

The Girls' First Nuggets Game

On Wednesday all us girls went to our first Nugget game at the Pepsi Center (not a first for the dad). It was a lot of fun! I think Carolyn's favorite part was that we went with the cousins. "Five"

Random picture of Angela...I think she looks so cute in her big girl princess pjs so I wanted to take a picture, but as soon as the camera came out she started to cry...Angela always wants to hold the camera when she sees it....I just want to kiss her when I see this picture :)

Happy Easter!

Baby Steps!

Angela took her first step today!! We just love, love, love our Angela! She is getting so big!

Carolyn loves playing “Birthday Party” just about every day (she makes pretend birthday cakes and then sings to herself, Angela, me, her dolls...whoever and whatever is close by). Well, we were excited that today we got to celebrate a birthday for real. Happy Birthday, Chantal! Angela and Carolyn also went to see the Easter bunny today. Unfortunately, the mall wouldn’t let us take our own pictures, but it was fun! Neither of the girls wanted to sit on his lap, but Carolyn was excited to give him “five” and “knuckles.”
Last week Carolyn and I also started our own “official” preschool together. It’s so fun watching Carolyn grow up and start doing fun stuff like preschool.

Pleasantly Surprised

This week two great discoveries were made:

1 - Angela and Carolyn are amazing roommates! When I put them in one room, I anticipated having many sleepless nights. Thus far, that has not been the case! Carolyn is a ROCK at night and will sleep through Angela's occasional crying! Thank you, Carolyn!

2 - Potty training Carolyn has been, surprisingly, going great! Carolyn had her "ah-ha!" moment last week where is all just clicked...She is doing wonderfully and looks so cute and big in her princess panties! Good job, Carolyn!

Grandma and Grandpa!

My parents came for a little surprise visit (I did get a day’s notice...still counts as a surprise) for a few days! We had so much fun with them!
We had a huge blizzard the first day they were here so most of our time with them was spent indoors. Grandma and Carolyn did a ton of puzzles together while they were here.
They brought a few really adorable puzzles to add to the girls' massive puzzle collection (Carolyn could always use a few more puzzles...she's still our puzzle girl :) My mom also brought me some great ideas and posters for my primary chorister calling...thank you, mom!
Carolyn loved having Grandpa around to read her book after book after book...

Carolyn teaching Angela how to brush that little tooth of hers that is starting to poke out.

Angela and Carolyn love pushing each other around in their little car.

Here we are at Chucky Cheese (the grandparents are always spoiling all of us).

Angela enjoying some of Grandma's cooking...

Kisses...
