As we all know from Carolyn's paper she turned in a few weeks ago...it was Carolyn's favorite movie day! How blessed we are to have General Conference. For me, it gives me so much direction, hope, joy, guidance, peace, etc. I loved the talks from this past General Conference and can't wait to listen and read again and again. I love the girls' example to me of how they strive to listen and heed what the word of God directs us to do. I love how Angela during Conference would listen for words or things that stood out in her heart. She would draw pictures of what she heard or write about it on a piece of paper. Then, she hung these papers all over the room as we listened (on the fireplace, piano, etc.) Love her example. Her and Daddy gave a fantastic lesson today about General Conference. About how our Savior came to the Nephites and then we discussed how our Savior talks to us today. One of those ways is General Conference. How blessed we are to be able to hear the words of our Savior through His disciples. For conference, Carolyn made a poster and wrote in her journal the things that stood out to her. When Andrew was asking questions after wards, Carolyn could answer questions better than I could. What an example my girlies are to me. As you can see- Emily was also listening and creating an egg carton that may help her remember the leaders and what she learned from Conference.     ( .....notice Angela's pose.... )
Loved reading what Angela got out of General Conference. I love this girl.
 .....Carolyn's notes...
Angela's lesson to us about General Conference....
She loved finding the pictures of the Leaders as they spoke as she made this.

I asked Andrew how I should describe Angela's soccer playing. She had her first game of the season today. Andrew said, “She was aggressive...like a tiger.” She seriously was amazingly fierce out there on the field. A couple of parents told me how much of a go-getter she is. That's our angel girl!!

Carolyn's party with her friend today. Ice staking and swimming. Pretty awesome.

Quote of the Day:

Emily says to me as we are driving somewhere, "Sometimes I giggle and I can't stop giggling."
Today was one of my favorite mom moments. Carolyn was so sweetly playing with her Emy. She was being silly with animal puzzles. Emily was laughing pretty good. Meanwhile, my Angela was dressed up in her “teacher” dress and teaching me. Her lesson? She would look at pictures in a friend photo album and then matching up the picture with a primary song. I love my girls.

 - Today Emily and I were eating lunch together.
While eating, Emily said very randomly, "Mom, I know why Heavenly Father made us have hands." Me - "Why?"
Emily - "So we can hold stuff and hold hands."

-  Angela told me that today at school during writing, the prompt was to write about something precious to them. Angela said, "I was going to write about the jewel I got from my Secret Santa but then I wanted to write about you."

- At the dinner table, Andrew looks at Emily and says, "Emily! You are so stinking cute!"
Emily with a completely bewildered face replied very animatedly,  "REALLY?! I took a bath!"

- Tonight the girls got to listen to Daddy tell a continuous story that he has going on. The girls die to listen to these. After Andrew had told the story for a little bit he ended with the usual: "To be continued...." To which the girls exclaimed with complete horror: "NOOOOOO!!!!"

- Andrew, the girls, and I spent the last few moments together all squished on our couch. There was silly tickles going on an a lot of laughter. After this, Angela told me she had to tell me something that was a secret. So, she took my hand and led me to the Laundry Room. She shut the door and looked pretty serious. She said, "Mom, do you want to know why I like River?" (He is her best friend at school right now). I said, "Why?" Angela replied, "Because he doesn't say inappropriate things or laugh at inappropriate things. And he's nice." I am so happy that my Angela knows how to pick out good friends :)

- Carolyn had an experience at school where her good friend (we'll call her Lucy) didn't want to play with another girl (we'll call her Vicki) at their first recess. She encouraged Carolyn to hide from Vicki. Carolyn refused and went to play with Vicki. To this, Lucy told her she wasn't her best friends anymore.  Carolyn said she asked Heavenly Father what she should do and during the second recess Carolyn was really nice to Lucy and Lucy ended out being nice to her again.

Emy loves having me take pictures of her. And sometimes wants to send them to Daddy. Notice what we wrote for Dad :)
