Carolyn has been waiting months for this day to arrive – her birthday! I think it is everything she imagined :)
Since her birthday is today (Sunday) we kind of made the whole weekend a birthday celebration for her. Andrew had work off on Friday so we went to the zoo as a family. On Saturday, she had a birthday party with her little buddies and then hung out with cousins and Aunt Chantal for the day. Today we opened presents and played with them all as much as possible! This day really has been a dream come true to our sweet Carolyn.
Pictures from the Princess/Prince Birthday Party:
I made a three layer castle cake for Carolyn’s birthday that turned out pretty cute…unfortunately, it tumbled all over the night before the party (it was after midnight and I wasn’t about to start over)…so, I cut off the two top layers and this was the result…haha…oh well...it didn’t matter to Carolyn, however...all she wanted was a blue Cinderella Castle so it met all her expectations :)
Thank you, thank you to friends for the awesome gifts!
Blowing bubbles with Aunt Chantal and cousins after the party.
I love this picture of Anna and Carolyn.
A big thank you to everyone’s gifts to Carolyn…she was completely showered with gifts on her birthday!
I really wanted a picture with my birthday girl, but Carolyn is quite camera shy…this is the best I could do...it’s a picture of lucky me playing with the new toys with my girl.
I wanted to get a picture of me with my little birthay girl...this is the best I could do on my own...sorry it's a little upclose and personal.
I love my little Angela! I feel so blessed to have such an amazing little girl to fill my days with joy. She is such a sweetheart. I love her so much! I have the best life.
We have soo been awaiting the day to turn the carseat around! Angela just LOVED her first spin out in her new carseat. She kept laughing and laughing the whole car ride!!!
Carolyn was pretty excited to give away her carseat and get a new "big girl" one.
How lucky am I? I get to drive around and look back to two adorable little girls giggling. It's CRAZY for me to look back! I have two toddlers now! Crazy! I love it!
Angela was showered with many great gifts...
It was a wonderful day! Chantal was able to come join in the fun all the day long! We started the day out on walk where the girls and I go running every morning. It was fun to show Daddy and Chantal the path we love going on...Angela (and Carolyn) love it. There are prairie dogs all around and people out walking their dogs (my girls love their animals). After the walk, we went to the zoo! We tried to make it extra special for Angela by making sure to see all of the birds we possibly could at the zoo (I had no idea of how many different kinds of birds you can find there). After the zoo, Chris and Janeil's family came over to join us with a barbecue and cake and ice cream. It was a great day!
Carolyn singing "Happy Birthday" to her little sis. Angela was just trying to figure out what was going on...and wondering when she could dig into the cake! Her first taste of icecream and cake! She couldn't get enough of the icecream! She fits right in with the fam :)
My dear, dear sister, Michelley, had a baby boy last Thursday!! It feels so unreal to me…I am DYING that I am not there with her and there to meet her little Cooper!

“Occasionally some individuals let the seeming ordinariness of life dampen their spirits. Though actually coping and growning, others lack the quiet, inner-soul satisfaction that can steady them, and are experiencing instead, a lingering sense that there is something more important they should be doing . . .as if what is quietly achieved in righteous individual living or in parenthood are not sufficiently spectacular.”
