The girls came up with amazing inspirations they want to listen for during General Conference! We talked about how we feel the spirit and how the Holy Ghost talks to us during Conference. The girls came up with amazing lists of what they want to learn from Conference. Here is a list they came up with ON THEIR OWN:

Carolyn: Play more nicely, Pray when I 'm mean

Angela: Stop Screaming, Be nice to people, Love Mom, Say Prayers to Heavenly Father, Say sorry when I scream, Help Carolyn feel better when she is sick

What sweet lists they cam up with on their own! And it gets sweeter. Carolyn is doing an inspiring job at taking notes during Conference she got her pen and wrote down amazing things. Angela is drawing pictures if what she hears the speakers talk about.

Conference Goals:

Carolyn: Read scriptures every morning and night.

Angela: Brush teeth and read scriptures

The Lord guides us in teaching our children! I need to be more intune to this and seek His guidance more. The Lord helped me to prepare a way for us to prepare for General Conference. I prepared a lesson before Conference (D&C 1:38, then the girls write down questions/concerns/what they want to learn from Conference). Then a packet full of fun ways for the girls to take notes. Then at the end of General Conference, we write down answers to questions, goals, etc. I love prayer. I love being a mom. I love teaching. I most certainly love my kids!!
Last month, I started a new program Heavenly Father directed for my girls called "Gospel Standards." It's a wanna-be personal Progress Program for my girlies. For 2 weeks, we focus on one of the Primary Gospel Standards (the girls pick it). It's something they don't do together but on their own with help from me, if needed. We try to do it every day. In November, we are going to do a program focused on our Savior and following His example.

This morning was awesome! It snowed for the first time last night so I got the music for "Let it Snow" by Carpenters and we danced first thing in the morning. I loved it. The girls bring joy.

My favorite things to do with the girls:

Carolyn - After school every day after chores, gospel principles, friends, whatever - we snuggle in bed and read from the book we are currently reading from! She loves this, too, I think and she always begs for more time :) We've read a bunch of Ronald Dahl books and are now reading Junie B. Jones.

Angela - While Carolyn is at school and Emily is sleeping, we have one hour (or more) together! Love it! We do gospel principles, speech, preschool, and snuggle and read! She loves to read all sorta of books.

Emily - During "Emily Time" is my favorite with Ems. We read books (she loves books about animals or books I sing to her) and then we sing. Oh, how she loves to sing!! Esp. songs with actions!

Carolyn was a missionary today!! Carolyn's friend, Joey, was looking at a calendar and came across something called "Pioneer Day" on July 24th. He didn't know what it was and asked Ms. Stoffler what that Holiday meant. Ms. Stoffler said she wasn't sure what "Pioneer Day" was either. Carolyn took the opportunity to explain. Carolyn said something like, "It was like 100 years ago and the pioneers walked like 100 miles and built a temple."
