WildLife Refuge

Can you believe this place is 10 minutes away from our home. And free.

One of my greatest friends (Yvette) and her two cute girls (Savannah and Corrina) invited us to go to the Wildlife Refuge for our day off on President's Day. They also picked up Hannah from Angela's and Corrina's kindergarten class. Bison and deer up-close. Eagle/animal shows. Coyotes and eagles around. Etc. It was awesome. And free.

Frozen Night Out!

The girls are the best. The best ever. They heard me say that I would love to see the new Disney movie, "Frozen." So, the girls secretively planned a birthday gift for me and Emily to share - a family trip to the movies to see "Frozen." Carolyn and Angela knew that they couldn't make enough money with their allowance to pay for the family to go so they asked for extra chores. Especially week one they were chore crazy to earn money for Emily and my present. They did try to keep it a secret, however. They didn't tell me what the gift was but that they needed to save up about $21. We ended up going to the cheap theaters and the girls earned their $10 to go towards the movies (Andrew made up the difference). They even got popcorn! What sweet girls!!!

The movie was so cute! Probably my favorite kid show! Carolyn and Angela claimed it as their favorite movie ever. We can't wait to see again.

A big thank you from Emily and me to Angela and Carolyn and Andrew :)!!!!

2014 VALENTINES DAY!

YAY!!! Valentines Day:

#1 Favorite Holiday of Carolyn's
#2 Favorite for Angela and Mom

We love Valentines Day!
Especially if you are me and have Andrew as your Valentine!!

The girls making their Valentines. Angela picked Princess Valentines with Conversation Hearts. Carolyn choice Airhead Valentines.

We thought a lot about our sweet Great Grandma Della (Andrew's Grandma Della Hansen). It was her first Valentines Day without her husband. We thought she might be lonely. Carolyn had a brilliant idea. She painted her a beautiful car and wrote two beautiful poems for her. We sent it off for her.

Emily, Angela and Carolyn worked their artistic magic to come up with these beautiful Valentine Cards:

Angela made this adorable Valentine Box to collect her Valentines as school. A Valentine Monster! She named it "Valentines Monster." It was fun making it together.

Valentines Day - Daddy spoiled the girls in his life. Us girls walked downstairs to find this waiting for us!!!! I love my Valentine! How did I luck out?

Valentines morning I threw a party for our neighbors (Crawfords) and us. We made Valentine puppets, decorated Valentine cookies, and made Valentine Cards with Conversation hearts. We love our neighbors, the Crawfords.

I love volunteering in the girls' classroom. My favorite is I try to get into Angela's writing time and I also love being a "mysterious reader" for her class. Her Valentine Party was so fun! Here is my adorable Angela in her cute hat on Valentines Day :)
Silly Class. Angela's best friend is her class is Alijiah. Alijah is the one on the bottom row 3 in from the left. She is wearing yellow.
To surprise our Andrew, the girls and I decorate the house and made a fancy restaurant. We used food dye to ensure the food was all Valentines colors! Daddy brought Valentine doughnuts for us.

Family Devotionals

I love the gospel discussions we have in our home. I love hearing what the girls know about the gospel and what they teach me. I learn so much from their wisdom. This week we are talking about President Faust's talk "A Personal Relationship with our Savior." This is Angela's picture she drew to discuss his talk. All of us drew a picture similar to this cute one. We drew a picture of ourself and a path to our Savior. Each day we have 5 steps we can do DAILY to feel close to our Savior. Each day we add one more to that path.

Sewing Carolyn!

Carolyn loves to sew! Her project? Cute matching scarfs for all 3 girls. This girl loves to sew!

The 3 beauties in their scarfs! Thank you, Carolyn! :)
Carolyn heard that Great Grandma has a quilting club. Once a week she gets together with her friends and they sew quilts for children in the hospital. Carolyn wants to start a quilting club with her friends in the summer. She wants to sew quilts and bring to children in the hospital.

Late Night with Daddy

We never see this amazing man of mine. Okay, we see him. But rarely. How blessed I feel to have a husband that works so hard. How blessed I feel that I can stay home with my sweeties. Carolyn came done late one night and got to sneak some cheesecake with dad in the middle of the night.
